The woman hit and killed Wednesday on County Road 75 has been identified.

According to St. Cloud Police Information Officer Jason Burke, 19-year-old Joya Patricia-Ann McKay from Detroit, Michigan was identified as the victim. St. Cloud Police believe she was going to college in St. Cloud but they couldn’t connect her with an exact campus.

She was hit around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning by 59-year-old Mohamed Abdi Egal. Egal was going north on County Road 75 on his way home from work and he did not appear to be impaired in any way.

Authorities believe McKay stepped off the median in front of the car.
