Former State Representative Zachary Dorholt announced earlier this week that he will be running for Minnesota House Representative in District 14B in 2016.

Dorholt, a small business owner and mental health professional says the people of St. Cloud deserve a legislator who puts the priorities of families, students and businesses first. Dorholt is less than impressed by the current legislature. The candidate weighs in on many issues that he believed were ignored such as failing to pass a comprehensive transportation bill and failure to pass a tax bill.

Dorholt also has expressed his frustration regarding the legislature’s stance on education. During the former representatives time in office he helped freeze tuition at all colleges and universities and also voted for free all –day kindergarten.

The candidate believes that money can be better spent and compromise between both parties can be achieved. Dorholt says he will work to put more power in the hands of the community as it should be.  He adds that he is excited to meet with St. Cloud area residents this summer and fall.

The seat is currently held by republican Jim Knoblach.
