The SCSU Baseball team faced off with Wayne State this past weekend where the despite the slow start, the Huskies were able prove their dominance by the end of the end of the weekend.

In game one on Saturday the SCSU bats were in a deep sleep as they recorded only five hits and lost 4-1. In game two the offense came alive as the Huskies tallied three runs in the first inning leading to an eventual 6-1 win.

Sunday’s contests had the momentum stick with the Huskies as they trounced to 13-7 and 9-1 victories to win the series. 

The Huskies have fallen into pace in the batters box with all but four players batting above .300, Jackson Goplen has been a standout for the team at the plate where he’s hitting .492 in 59 plate appearances.

The Huskies improve to a record of 14-6 overall and will be at home Wednesday to host Northern State.
