The SCSU football team dropped their home opener last Friday against Winona State by a score of 34-10.

The game was kept close through the first half when quarterback Dwayne Lawhorn found tight end Sam Hartman in the end zone with just seven seconds remaining in the half to make the score 17-10 in favor of Winona State.

Winona State thrived in the second half by keeping the Huskies off the scoreboard and putting up 17 unanswered points.

Notables for SCSU included running back Joe Blando falling short of his big performance from the week before, picking up 85 yards on 20 carries.
