On Saturday the SCSU men’s hockey team faced off with the University of Regina in an exhibition game.

The scoring came early and often for the Huskies with Jack Poehling scoring the first goal of SCSU’s 2017-2018 season. The Huskies would continue the entire game with their foot on the throttle putting seven more goals past Regina’s goalie, Michael Herringer, for the 8-0 victory.

Freshman Blake Lizotte had an impressive showing in his collegiate debut scoring a hat trick. Freshman Easton Brodzinski also had a strong showing as he recorded a goal and two assists. All SCSU goalies saw ice time working together for a team shutout.

The Huskies will be on the road next weekend when they travel to Mankato on Saturday.
