The SCSU Women’s Soccer played two games at home last weekend, picking up a win in both games. 

On Saturday Sioux Falls traveled to Husky stadium. Sioux falls faced a tough Huskies defense that didn’t even allow them a shot the entire first half. The Huskies broke the 0-0 tie in the 2nd half when Kate Murphy scored the lone decisive goal in the 59th minute. The Huskies won 1-0 and out shot Sioux Falls 17-3.

Sunday the Huskies 2-1 win featured a comeback. Southwest Minnesota State scored ten minutes into the game and held the lead up until the 83rd minute. Kylie Clearly had a nice cross to Hannah Marion who tied it up 1-1. The game went into overtime and that’s when Kate Murphy took over. Five minutes into OT Murphy dribbled all alone from thirty yards in to score the goal. The Huskies out shot SMSU 24-6.

The lady Huskies will take the road this weekend as they travel to Wayne State Friday, and Augustana on Saturday. The Huskies are 7-7 this year with a 5-6 record in NSIC play.
