St. Cloud State Volleyball (5-2, 1-0) swept the University of Minnesota-Crookston (2-7, 0-1) in straight sets 25-15, 25-19, and 25-16 on Thursday evening in Halenbeck Hall.

The Huskies outhit UMC .232 to -.039, as SCSU kept the Golden Eagles out of system throughout the night. SCSU managed to record 23 more attacks than Crookston in the match.

Abby Templin recorded 11 kills on a .381 clip to lead the Huskies’ attack. Micah Nier (7 K, .333) and Marah Mulso (5 K, .455) pummeled the Golden Eagles’ back row on beautifully designed middle sets all night long. Lindsey Rachel had a strong night as well, racking up 8 kills and 7 digs. Setter Maddy Torve posted 32 assists and 6 digs. Defensively, SCSU recorded 10 block assists, and Clara Krenz (14) and Taylor Olstad (10) each put up double-digit digs.

Hannah Stark led the Golden Eagles with 6 kills, while Deaira Gresham chipped in 5.

St. Cloud State continues their opening week of NSIC action with a Saturday road match at Bemidji State. That match can be heard on the KVSC Sports Stream, with Husky Den Pregame at 12:50 p.m. and opening serve at 1:00 p.m.
