The St. Cloud State softball team started their week off on the right foot against Bemidji State on Tuesday. They got the road win in game one of the double-header 4-0, but fell 3-2 in game two.

Both offenses were near silent in the first four innings of game one. Alyssa Coletto would alter the trend with a sacrifice fly to get the Huskies on the board. Later in the inning, Abby Bunnell would drive in a run with a single up the middle to extend the lead to 2-0.

The Huskies would build on the momentum in the next inning when Brianne Hightshoe scored off a Tricia DeBoer single. Taige Thoreson would bring DeBoer home with a hit later in the inning.

Kelly Franks would complete her shutout to give the Huskies the victory. The game recorded Franks’ 10^th win of the season.

The Huskies looked strong for the majority of the second game and held a 2-0 lead heading into the 6^th frame. However the Beaver bats came roaring to life in the final two innings of work. They put up 3 unanswered runs to steal the victory from St. Cloud State.

With the split the Huskies are 23-21 on the season (9-11 in NSIC) and will continue their final road strip of the season against Wayne State College on Saturday. First pitch is set for 12pm and 2pm. The Huskies will face Augustana College on Sunday at the same times.
