Early Scoring Drive Crush To 5-1 Win Over Royals In Crosstown Cup

HOPKINS, Minn. – On Tuesday, the St. Cloud Crush defeated the Rogers Royals 5-1 in their second game of the Crosstown Hockey Cup. After losing to Blaine on Monday 2-0, the Crush got to scoring early. Senior Reece Ruska scored 2:20 into the game to put the Crush up 1-0, it was her tenth goal of the season. The Crush would keep rolling, going up 3-0 in the first period, with goals scored by sophomore Sheridan Stockman and freshman Reeghan Stevens.
Rogers would get one back in the second, the Crush would get back in control off a major powerplay. Scoring twice on the major, Ruska scored her second of the game, 11th of the season, and freshman Josie Longnecker would make the score 5-1. The final nine minutes of the second and full third period would see no goals, securing the victory for St. Cloud.
Junior goalie Jordan Bovy stopped 41 shots in the game, as the Crush were outshot 42-19. She saved 40 shots on Monday against Blaine, continuing a stellar 2025-26 season. St. Cloud improves to 9-5-0 on the season and 1-1 in the cup. The Crush will finish 2025 with their final game of the Crosstown Cup on Wednesday. The Crush will take on Academy of Holy Angels at noon on the KVSC Sports Stream.
