History Mystery of the Kiehle Visual Arts Center Part 2
In this part two History Mystery episode on the Kiehle Visual Arts Center, KVSC News Director talks with Peter Happel Christian, the department chair of the arts at SCSU as well with art students on campus.
They talk about what will happen when art classes move into Headly and Stewart halls in the fall 2026 semester following the closure of the Kiehle Visual Arts Center.
The building has been part of SCSU since it was originally opened as a library in 1952. However, as more students came to campus, more space was needed. So, the library was moved to Centennial Hall in 1971. In 1974, the Kiehle Library became the Kiehle Visual Arts Center, and became the center for SCSU’s art department.
