Women’s Soccer

St. Cloud State opened conference play this week and earned four points with a win and a draw. The Huskies led 2-0 on Friday against UMary until the final five minutes, when the Marauders came back to tie the game. SCSU would get back in the win column on Sunday with a 1-0 shutout against Minot State. Laney Haviland scored in each game for the Huskies.

Volleyball

Huskies volleyball also opened NSIC play and split their two matches. In the home opener on Friday, SCSU rolled to a sweep of Augustana behind 13 kills from Shelby Kimm and eight from Abby Wachal. On Saturday, #2 Wayne State proved to be a tougher opponent as the Huskies were swept by the Wildcats.

Men’s Soccer

St. Cloud State went 1-1 in their final week of non-conference play. The Huskies were defeated by Jamestown 2-0 on Wednesday, but responded with a 2-1 victory over UI-Springfield on Saturday. Andres Garcia and Kingsley Kanu scored in the victory. Garcia leads the team with four goals. The Huskies stay at home this week as they begin GLIAC play by hosting Purdue Northwest on Thursday.
