The detour on Highway 55 from Buffalo to Rockford has been removed.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that the highway is now open on Monday after a major project caused the road to close on July 9 from Division Street in Buffalo to Electric Drive in Rockford.

While the road is open, some areas of the highway will still be reduced to one lane at times.

The project will last until September. It will look to improve 7.5 miles of pavement while making the road more safe and accessible.
