ST. GEORGE TOWNSHIP, Minn.– Eighteen-year-old Keegan Midas from Foley was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car crash on Thursday, August 27, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, on Highway 25 County Road 10 in Benton County Midas was traveling northbound collided with A pickup truck hauling a trailer, causing Midas’s truck to roll over.

Midas was pronounced dead on the scene, and according to MSP, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the pickup hauling the trailer was 27-year-olddriver Tyler Lee Hurting from Brainerd and his 49-year-old passenger Daniel Keith Phelps from Wadena. The two were not injured in the crash, and both were wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation
