The Stearns County Service Center is expanding and the public is invited for its groundbreaking event.

Stearns County says that the event comes at a time the center needs more space. All county functions that solve land issues will be moving to the service center. These include the Assessor’s office, Environmental Services, Land Records, the Recorder’s office, and the County Surveyor’s office.

The county also plans to create a Human Services "hub" where residents can access services. Construction on the building is expected to last through the end of 2019.

The event will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 12 p.m. at 3301 County Road 138 in Waite Park.
