-Saturday afternoon brought a cross town rivalry featuring the St. Cloud Crush hosting the Sartell Sauk Rapids Storm’n Sabres girls hockey game. The Crush scored early on a nifty goal  by Reeghan Stevens who scored within the first minute.  The Crush increased the lead to 2-0 when Jillian Burkstrand found the back of the net, then Reese Ruska increased the lead to 3-0 with the final goal of the first period.

The second period featured penalties instead of goals. There were 2 on the Crush and 3 on the  Storm’n Sabres. Both teams were skunked on power plays with the crush going 0/5 for the game and the Stormin Sabers ending up 0/2.

The third period was more of an even back and forth with the final goal of the game from Liz Bell who increased the Crush’s lead to 4-0 which was the final score.

Next up for the Storm’n Sabres is River Lakes and for the Crush they will travel to Fergus Falls. Both games scheduled for 12/2/2025
