Huskies Fall 0-1 in NCAA Sweet-Sixteen

-St. Cloud State women’s soccer team lost to the Washburn Ichabods 0-1 on Sunday in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. With the loss, the Huskies are now eliminated from the 2025 NCAA postseason. Washburn’s Aubrey Tanksley scored the only goal in the game.
The game started with back and forth play, but Washburn took control and gained the first shot on goal. The Ichabods defense was strong in the first half and helped them hold possession.
A late push in the first half by the Huskies was shut down by the Washburn defense and the first half ended 0-0.
Washburn had the advantage again in the second half and it wasn’t long until they found the back of the net. Roughly halfway through the second half, the Ichabods were awarded a corner kick and Audrey Tanksley scored to give the Ichabods a 1-0 lead. Washburn kept the Huskies from scoring in the second and moved to a 1-0 win, ending St. Cloud States season.
