Husky Community Engagement Fund Meets its Goal

By Cece Sauer / Asst. News Director

ST CLOUD, MINN — The Husky Community Engagement Fund (HCEF) has met its goal of $200,000, much thanks to campus and regional efforts.

The HCEF is meant to provide the president of SCSU with the opportunity to make community-focused investments that will strengthen the bonds between the university and the surrounding regions.

When the HCEF was first introduced in the fall of 2025, an anonymous donor offered to match the first $100,000 in donations if they were made by Dec. 31, 2025.

When Dr. Gregory Tomso arrived on campus as the new president of SCSU last week, he was able to confirm that the community had, in fact, met its goal in donations.

“To arrive on campus to not just a warm welcome, but an outpouring of support from the community is such a promising introduction to SCSU,” Tomso said.

As of Jan. 6, the HCEF and the anonymous donor have reached the goal of $200,000.

Those who would like to support the Husky Community Engagement Fund can do so by going to scsu.mn/hcefund or call (320) 308-3984.
