The St. Cloud State softball team struggled mightily against #9 Augustana College on Monday night falling 10-2 in game one and 7-4 in game two.

The Huskies came into the double-header against Minnesota Moorhead yesterday on a three game losing streak.

St. Cloud State quickly put an end to that streak with a game one shutout over the Dragons. Taylor Thomas, Tricia DeBoer, Taige Thores, Jordin Novak, and Megan Lehnen all scored runs for the Huskies. In addition, Kelly Franks allowed only one hit to the Dragons in the victory (Franks’ 12th on the season). The final tally was 7-0: Huskies.

The second game was a lot closer with the Huskies taking an early lead with a run in the first. Jessica Goerger would get her second RBI on the day with a single in the third inning to put the Huskies up 2-0. Both offenses were quiet until the bottom of the 7^th inning when the Dragons put themselves on the board for the first time in the series. Despite having two ducks on the pond the Huskies managed to hold off the Dragons for the remainder of the inning.

With the sweep the Huskies are back above .500 at 26-24 overall and 12-14 in conference play. They will close out the regular season by hosting Minot State University on Saturday and the University of Mary on Sunday at Selke Field. First pitch on both days is set for noon and 2pm.
