A large machine shed in Albany caught fire Wednesday evening, just after 6:00 p.m.

Albany Fire Department and Stearns County Sheriff’s responded to the large machine shed fire at 19557 Quaker Road in Albany Township, and reportedly could see the fire spread to the outside of the shed. The machine shed contained a pickup truck, skid steer, and other equipment.

The owner of the property, 80-year-old Thomas Tomsche told investigators the skid steer was operated a short time before the fire started. According to investigators, the fire appeared to start near the area of the skid steer.

Tomsche was not injured during the fire but the equipment inside the large machine shed had smoke and heat damage from the fire.
