Mavericks Dominate Huskies Behind Bremer’s 23

-On Saturday, January 3, 2026 the St. Cloud State women’s basketball team was defeated by the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks 56-83. MSU’s Natalie Bremer led the game with 23 and seven steals and shot two of four from three point range.
Minnesota State scored first but five straight points from SCSU followed and soon the game was tied 7-7 just one minute and 50 seconds into the first quarter. The Mavericks pulled ahead and a jump shot from St Cloud’s Alana Zarneke tied the game at 11. Mankato then took an 18-15 lead into the second quarter with the help of some stellar shooting from Natalie Bremer. Mankato extended their led again in the second quarter and a jump shot from Mackenzie Schweim gave them a 35-23 lead with 3:20 left in the quarter.
After going in to halftime with a 39-29 lead, the Mavericks dominated the Huskies in the second half. The Minnesota State Mavericks moved on to an 83-56 win over St. Cloud State.
Next Up: SCSU will head northwest to take on Minot State on Friday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m.
