Archived: Men’s Hockey Sweeps Mankato State

The St Cloud State men’s hockey team swept Minnesota State Mankato over the weekend winning 4-0 and 3-0. On Friday St Cloud State used another strong opening period and led 1-0 after David Morley’s goal. Later in the second period freshman Jimmy Schuldt recorded his first collegiate point and the Huskies led 2-0 after two periods. Patrick Russell and Kale Kossila finished the scoring for St Cloud in the third period and Charlie Lindgren was a rock between the pipes posting his second straight shutout this season.

 

The Huskies rode the back of Lindgren again on Saturday cruising to another victory with goals by; Patrick Russell, Robby Jackson and Judd Peterson. Through four games of the regular season Jackson and Peterson have led the way with three goals each. Lindgren posted his third shutout in as many starts making 24 saves in the victory. Lindgren has made three starts this season, making 68 total saves and has allowed zero goals. With the wins St Cloud is 4-0 on the season and travels to Quinnipiac University this weekend.
