ST. CLOUD, Minn. – After a weekend sweep, St. Cloud State women’s hockey jumped up to eighth in the USCHO national rankings. The team also brought home two individual awards as sophomore forward Maria Mikaelyan was named WCHA Forward of the Week and freshman goaltender Alexis Ehrman earned Goaltender of the Week honors.

Mikaelyan had a weekend to remember, scoring five goals and totaling six points in the series against Minnesota State. The sophomore recorded her first career hat trick Friday and factored into all three Huskies goals Saturday, scoring twice and assisting on the third.

This is the third weekly honor of Mikaelyan’s career, as she was twice named WCHA Rookie of the Week during the 2025-26 season. It’s also the second consecutive week that St. Cloud State has earned Forward of the Week honors, with senior Alice Sauriol receiving the award Sept. 28.

Ehrman played in both games against the Mavericks, making her NCAA debut Friday in relief after Emilia Kyrkko left the game with an injury. Ehrman played the final 9:40 of the contest and made four saves. The freshman then made her first collegiate start Saturday and blanked Minnesota State with a 33-save shutout.

St. Cloud State will return to action for non-conference play this weekend, traveling to Hamilton, New York, to face Colgate. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
