George Maurer is a local musician who spent his 2016 summer bicycling around Iceland for cancer research. His goal was to raise $10,000 for the Carolyn Held Memorial Fund while traveling the perimeter of Iceland.

This is the third summer Maurer has devoted to two-wheel transportation and fundraising, and he shared his experience with News Director Korina Borash.

The two talk about Maurer’s inspiration to start biking, the scenery of the Icelandic countryside, and how to prepare for a nearly 1,000 mile bike ride across the Atlantic Ocean. Maurer also spoke with Korina after his 2015 summer ride across Western United States.
