The 14th season of Granite City Radio Theatre had a truly grand finale with special musical guest Matt Wilson.

Matt Wilson is well-known to KVSC listeners from his time as the frontman for Trip Shakespeare. He has also been the main creative force for the Twilight Hours and Matt Wilson and His Orchestra. All of that storied history came into play with the four songs he played, each with exemplary backing by Granite City Radio Theatre house band Collective Unconscious.

Of course, there was so much more to the show!

Host Lee Adams did his usual exemplary job of guiding the program. There were hilarious comedy sketches, including one that featured the return of Granite City Radio Theatre stalwart Heather Mastromarco.

And we’re sure everyone is going to remember the truly inspired sketch that caught a couple of old-timers meeting and bonding on the golf course.

It wouldn’t be an episode of Granite City Radio Theatre without Shades Brigade. Jack Shade and his intrepid crew of adventurers continued on their latest mission that brings them to the Isle of Lewis, where strange happenings are afoot.

Dan Barth hosted an especially momentous edition of his trivia contest. The only two contestants to win five times in a row were both on stage to determine the ultimate champion, with Matt Wilson on hand as a potential spoiler.
