Granite City Radio Theatre has reached a milestone. KVSC’s long-running program kicked off its 15th season at the Pioneer Place on Fifth on Wednesday, October 22. Twin Cities singer-songwriter Katy Tessman joined in the celebration as the special musical guest for the night.

Katy Tessman didn’t come alone, either. Her son Louis is an amazing guitarist, and he sat in on all four of her heartfelt performances. Collective Unconscious, the Granite City Radio Theatre house band, was of course also playing along, making for a stunning night of live music.

Lee Adams returned as host, and he helped deliver a slew of hilarious comedy, including a monologue about a perilous quest for enlightenment, some lampoons of political advertising, and a surprisingly sweet sketch about a dog trying to send a telegram.

Lee Adams was joined on stage by all sort of cunning comic collaborators, including longtime Granite City Radio Theatre favorite Heather Mastromarco.

Heather had a busy night! In addition to her comic turns, she stepped up as one of the three contestants facing the crafty questions of Dan Barth in his beloved trivia segment.

It wouldn’t be an episode of Granite City Radio Theatre without Shades Brigade. They continued their thrilling adventure taking place at the Flannen Isles Lighthouse, northwest of Scotland.
