Ralph Nader holds many titles, including attorney, activist, author and candidate. Many political historians believe the staunch independent was the spoiler of the 2000 presidential elections because he got more than 97,000 votes in Florida. The Sunshine state led to a Supreme Court decision that eventually gave the keys to the White House to George W. Bush. However, Nader feels no remorse for his successful Green Party presidential bid.
Ralph Nader spoke at St. Cloud State University’s Ritsche Auditorium shortly after the high court ruled in favor of Bush. His speech was delivered on January 31, 2001 and focused on the “Corporatization of America” and was sponsored by NOVA-Non Violent Alternatives.
