Sacred Legacy Edward S. Curtis Exhibit
Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack traveled to the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post to attend the June 2012 opening reception for “Sacred Legacy: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian.” This photography exhibit features over 50 images created by Edward Curtis in the early 1900s of western Native Americans and their ancient civilizations just as the culture of the United States began to overrun them. The Mille Lacs Indian Museum will have Sacred Legacy on display until September 16, 2012.
