The Granite City Radio Theater Season 10 Episode 1 with Special Musical Guest Dennis Warner

There’s a reason it’s illegal to be drunk and in charge of a cow in Scotland, and the Season 10 (!!!) premier of the Granite City Radio Theater clearly demonstrated that this evening!

Special musical guest and local folk icon who has performed in all 50 states as well as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Dennis Warner teamed up with house band Collective Unconscious and assured GCRT Musical Director Muggsy Lauer that yes, indeed, his royalty check was in the mail.

The Shades Brigade crew welcomed a new cast member, Shannan Paul, to the stage in the roll of Lieutenant Colonel Charity Adams Earley, a historic and heroic woman of color who was in charge of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corp in the U.S. Army and the highest ranking African American woman at the end of World War II . . . so, of course, Eric Webster made her into a spy!

Dan Barth’s Trivia Challenge was such a train wreck of laughter that candlelight vigils have been planned.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carrie Zwack, Dennis Warner, and defending champion Heidi Jeub!

Upon entering our spooky Halloween comedy graveyard, the undead humor of Jay Terry, Heather Mastromarco, and Mackenzie Lahren explored realms that have never been seen on the radio before, SuccessCo succeeded where others wouldn’t bother trying, Wild Scholastica went Trick or Treating, and the Honorable Mayor sung a touching ballad to the infinitely twisting river of time.

Please join us on Wednesday, December 15 for our next Granite City Radio Theater!
