The Untold Story of the SCSU Department of Theatre and Film Studies with Carol Cooley

Before Carol Cooley joined the Theatre and Film Studies faculty at St. Cloud State University, she had a long career in theater and radio. She was centrally involved in notable stage productions across the country and worked on costumes for an Indiana Jones film and the famous suit worn by David Byrne in Stop Making Sense. She eventually determined that working in higher education allowed her to further the cause of strengthening the arts.

In this episode of Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, KVSC Station Manager Dan Seeger interviews Carol Cooley, a longtime member of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at St. Cloud State University. Carol talks about her extensive career before coming to St. Cloud, reminisces about her time at the university, and comments on the pending end of the school’s theatre program. She also talks about her time presiding over the KVSC program Thriving on a Riff, bringing jazz music to Central Minnesota listeners.
