The SCSU football team started their season in Marshall, Minnesota by taking on the Mustangs of SMSU. After battling in the first half and heading into the locker room 17-26, SCSU would come out swinging and score 24 unanswered points.

The Huskies were led offensively by running back Joe Blando who  racked up 163 yards and 2 touchdowns on 38 carries. Quarterback Dwayne Lawhorn had an impressive day with 210 yard in the air and 1 throwing touchdown.

SCSU will be in action Saturday when the take on Winona State in their home opener at Husky Stadium.
