SCSU Volleyball (10-4) notched a dominating upset victory on Saturday after they swept away #18 Wayne State (7-6) in straight sets. This is the first time in the Braegelmann era that the Huskies have defeated a ranked opponent.

St. Cloud State thoroughly bested the Wildcats throughout the match, leading 50-25 in. Kills, 4-1 in aces, 5-4 in blocks, and 55-44 in digs. The Huskies’ offense was clicking from the opening serve, as they hit .284 on 116 attacks. Marah Mulso was on fire from the opening of the match, starting off 6 for 7 on her attacks and ended hitting .444 with 11 kills, 4 blocks, and 2 digs. Senior Nicole Miller was exceptional, with 10 kills and 9 digs. Junior Micah Nier racked up 7 kills while hitting .462. 

Wayne State couldn’t find any holes in SCSU’s block, hitting just .075 on the afternoon. The Wildcats had just two players hit better than .100, as the Huskies play at the net curbed Wayne State’s hitters. Erin Gross led the way for the Cats’ with 7 kills.
