St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has announced  the three winners of his "ROCK ON" Awards.

Mayor Kleis gave the awards to the Hockey Day Minnesota Organizing Committee, Hudda Ibrahim, and James Calacsan. The winners were honored at the opening ceremony of St. Cloud Granite City Days at the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair. Kleis gives these awards to celebrate those who show commitment to helping the St. Cloud community.

The Hockey Day Minnesota Organizing Committee is responsible for helping organize Hockey Day Minnesota 2018, which was held on January 19 at Lake George. Kleis recognized them for their hard work and all of the volunteer hours they spent bringing the event to the St. Cloud area.

Ibrahim teaches diversity and social justice at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. She founded Filsan Consultant, LLC and wrote her first book last year, From Somalia to Snow, which talks about how Minnesota has become home for many Somalians.

Calacsan is a performer and singer who will be a part of Team USA at the World Championships of Performing Arts in California from July 6-July 15. He has also performed the national anthems for the Timberwolves, Wild, and Twins.

Granite City Days will go until Sunday, concluding with Fred Yiran African Arts Day from 12 p.m to 4 p.m.
