Archived: Two Incoming Winter Storms Could Mean More Snow For St. Cloud

More snow is on the way, it also seems like this cold isn’t quite finished with us either.

Meteorology professor Bob Weisman says that St. Cloud will be on the fringe of two winter storms, with the northern of the two leaving some snow. This storm system is proving difficult for meteorologists to forecast.

Noting that central Minnesota’s on the back end of the storm we can expect about 2-5 inches of snow.

But, due to the two storms trying to become one Weisman says this forecast is likely to change. This is because of the relatively small distance between a large amount of snow and just a coating. Any small change in either of the storms could affect the amount of snow we get dramatically.

Keeping with the spirit of a very tough winter cold temperatures will return this weekend.

Weisman added that a blizzard warning may be issued for south central Minnesota near the Interstate 35 corridor south of the Twin Cities to the Mississippi River due to the combination of strong winds and snow predictions.
