On Friday and Saturday the SCSU women’s hockey team faced the Minnesota Whitecaps in an exhibition series.

On Friday the scoring didn’t start until the second but not even a minute in the Whitecaps took the lead 1-0. Senior Alyssa Erickson would lead the charge offensively for SCSU scoring the tying goal midway through the second and netting the game winner on the power play in the third.

Saturday’s game fell under a similar story line with the Whites taking the lead in the first period. It wouldn’t be until seven minutes into the third when SCSU broke through when Aubrey Pritchett beat the goaltender leading the game to overtime. Two minutes into OT SCSU’s Hallie Theodosopoulos would net the game winner and secure the sweep. 

The Huskies will be back in action at home next weekend taking on Ohio State University in WCHA play.
