The SCSU Women’s Soccer team hit the road last weekend and split verses two NSIC rivals.

On Friday the huskies traveled to Upper Iowa where they would emerge victorious with a decisive 3-0 win. Tatyana Gusakow, Maria Witte, and Maria Kass all scored goals for the Huskies who out shot the Peacocks 14-6 with nine of those shots being on goal. Upper Iowa had a dismal day in front of the goal, only have two shots on goal.  

After a good win on Friday the Huskies had a tough loss when they went to Winona State on Sunday. The Huskies out shot the Warriors 13-8 and led in shots on goal 10-8 but lost a close 1-0 game. The deciding factor for the warriors was the great goal keeping by Rachel Oleson who was a wall on defense and saved all 10 of the Huskies shots on goal. 

After the split the Huskies are 5-5 this year with a 3-4 record in NSIC play this season. The Huskies travel to University of Mary on Friday (10/6) and return to Husky Stadium where they will face Minot State on Sunday (10/8).
