#4 Huskies Explode for 17 Runs, Wipe out Winona 17-6

#4 St. Cloud State (15-3, 3-1 NSIC) tied a season-high in runs scored with a 17-6 demolition of Winona State (8-7, 2-2 NSIC) in the first game of their midweek series.

Mitch Mallek (4-5, 2 R, 3 RBI) paced the lineup with his third four-hit game of the season, while Lenny Walker (2-5, 2 R, RBI, SB), Mat Meyer (2-4, 2 BB, 2 R, 2 RBI), Najee Gaskins (2-4, BB, 2 R), Dylan Haskamp (2-3, R, 2B) and Ethan Ibarra (3-3, BB, 3 R, 2 RBI, 2 SB) added multi-hit afternoons. Toran Shahidi finished 0-0 with four walks, a run scored and two RBI.

Huskies starter Matt Osterberg struggled over 3.1 innings, allowing 6 runs, five earned on 6 hits and three walks while striking out two.

Shannon Ahern earned the win in relief, firing 2.0 scoreless with one hit and a strikeout. Zach Siggelkow covered two outs, then Zach Iten finished the final frame with a strikeout.

Tanner Williams went 4-4 for the Warriors, scoring once, driving in one and cracking a pair of doubles.

St. Cloud State hung 8 runs on Winona in the second, never looking back while outscoring the Warriors 8-0 in the final three frames.
