#4 St. Cloud State Sweeps Upper Iowa Midweek 13-5
#4 St. Cloud State (21-3, 9-1 NSIC) swept Upper Iowa (6-9, 3-7 NSIC) and pushed their winning streak to 8 with a 13-5 drubbing in game two of their midweek.
Mitch Mallek (3-4, BB, 2 R, HR, 4 RBI), Najee Gaskins (3-5, BB, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, SB) and Aaron Hammann (3-6, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 RBI) posted three-hit games to spark the lineup.
Lefthander Matt Osterberg went 4.0 innings, allowing two runs, one earned on four hits and a walk. The sophomore struck out 8 before being pulled in anticipation of throwing in the Augustana series this weekend.
Shannon Ahern earned the win in relief, striking out 5 over 2.2 innings of one-run ball.
The Huskies open a homestand this weekend with Augustana, with start days, times and location yet to be determined. All three games will be found on the KVSC Sports Stream.
