The St. Cloud State men’s and women’s basketball teams remain undefeated after the first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference test of the season. The University of Minnesota Duluth teams visited St. Cloud Saturday. Both Huskies squads posted a victory over the Bulldogs.

In the first game of the day, the women were victorious 81-73 in a game that saw six lead changes in the first half. The Huskies secured the lead just before halftime and never gave it up again. St. Cloud State had five players who scored in double-digits: Sam Price, Jessica Benson, Rachael Moen, Lexy Petermann and Carley Jeffery. The Huskies shot 48% from the field while the Bulldogs shot 39%.

The men’s team finished off the day by downing the Bulldogs 86-65. James Fort led all players with a career-high 20 points. Demarius Cruz and Matt Craigs also scored in double-digits for the Huskies.

Both teams will take their undefeated records on the road to face Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston this upcoming weekend.
