St. Cloud State University is commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service.

SCSU organizers say the day is designed to honor King’s dream of a multiracial nation united in justice and peace. The day starts off with a free breakfast with keynote speaker Wil Haygood. Haygood is an acclaimed author, journalist, and historian. He is best known for his books “Showdown, His work” and “The Butler” which was later adapted into Lee Daniels’ award winning film by the same name.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and breakfast starts at 8 on January 21st at the River’s Edge Convention Center. Registration for this free event is required.
