Archived: Local Library Helping to Break Down Barriers

The Great River Regional Library received a grant to fund their new community project “Breaking Down Barriers to Family Literacy.”

Communications director Abby Faulkner says this year-long project will sharpen English-speaking skills, increase readiness for the workforce, and create networking opportunities. The grant is worth just under 90 thousand dollars and was given to the library by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The “Breaking Down Barriers to Family Literacy” project Is a series of programs that will be going on all year long. All classes are open to the public.
