Grass Fire Causes Hazard Near Highway 23
A grass fire near Highway 23 caused a brief traffic hazard Wednesday afternoon.
Stearns County Sheriff Steve Soyka says just before 1 p.m. they received a report that a grass fire had started in Rockville by State Highway 23 and Stearns County Road 6.
An investigation found the fire started from sparks or ashes of a burn barrel at the residence of 60-year-old Michael Fanslau.
The fire started near Hemlock Road and burned about two acres of wetland grass.
