One man is dead after a single car crash near Melrose.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a call of a car in the ditch on County Road 186. It appeared the car was headed south when it failed to follow a curve in the road.  The car rolled in the ditch and ejected one of the passengers, 34-year-old Pedro Gomez Dela Cruz, who was pronounced dead at the scene. While at the crash police also located 38-year-old Luis Valencia of Melrose. He had some none life threatening injuries and was able to walk away from the crash.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has requested that the Minnesota State Patrol to reconstruct the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
