Two Men Shot Near Downtown St. Cloud

Officers were able to track down two men injured by gunshots near downtown St. Cloud Friday morning.

The St. Cloud Police Department says they received a report about the gunshots near the Great River Regional Library at West St. Germain Street just before 11:30 a.m.

Responding officers found a car leaving the scene and eventually were able to stop the car just across from the Paramount Center for the Arts at West St. Germain. Two men with gunshot wounds in their legs were found inside. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An immediate investigation found that the victims each knew one male suspect, who approached them and shot them. Authorities are working on identifying the suspect, who left the scene after the shooting.

The investigation is still ongoing, and it appears this was not a random incident.

The shooting comes just days after a Tuesday night shooting in St. Cloud in which a man was shot in the head.
