A man was killed Friday night after trying to cross Highway 10 in Becker.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a car driven by 23-year-old Anastasia Rae Mattson of Brainerd was heading east at the intersection of Highway 10 and Sherburne Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. Sixty-six-year-old Francis Laverne Pittman of Big Lake attempted to cross the highway when he was hit by Mattson’s car.

Pittman was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if he was drinking at the time of the crash.

Mattson was left with non-life threatening injuries.
