St. Cloud State University has received a gift of $1 million to the university’s nursing program from alumni.
Vice President for University Advancement Matt Andrew says Jim Maciej and Ann Marie Maciej gave the large gift because they were impressed with the nursing program. Jim Maciej says they learned about a way to admit additional students to the program and they felt it was the best use of their resources. Jim Maciej is past president of Ac’cent Companies and JVM Realty Advisors of Edina, and has chaired for multiple realty and development organizations.
In honor of the gift, the department of nursing science wing in Brown hall will now be named the “Jim ’73 and Ann Marie Maciej Nursing Education Suite.”
Dean of the School of Health and Human Services Shonda Craft says this is the largest gift the department has seen.
