Archived: SCSU Hosting 52nd Annual Winter Institute in February

The 52nd Winter Institute at St. Cloud State University will kick off Wednesday, February 12 in Atwood Memorial Center.

The event gathers the best minds in the region and the country to share their thoughts and ideas on economic issues.

This year’s Winter Institute will be headlined with a free keynote presentation by Harvard professor and editor of the Journal of Public Economics, Raj Chetty. Chetty’s presentation covers his research evidence and theory to help design more effective government policies. Chetty was named one of the top economists in the world by the New York Times and The Economist Magazine.

Other highlights of the event will include a business outlook panel discussion with banking professionals, economics professors from SCSU, Ohio State and the University of Minnesota.

After the free panel discussion, SCSU economics professors King Banaian and Rich MacDonald will present the Quarterly Business Report for the St. Cloud area.

The 52nd Winter Institute is hosted by SCSU’s Department of Economics and the School of Public Affairs. The event runs February 12-13 with registration fees ranging from $25-$50.
