Archived: UPDATED: Suspect Information in Liberty Savings Bank Robbery in St. Cloud
The Liberty Saving Bank on Ridgewood Road in St. Cloud was robbed Friday morning. St. Cloud police were called at 9:09 a.m. Their investigation indicates that a man entered the bank, demanded money from the teller and left. He did not display a weapon and no one was injured. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money.
He is described as being 5′ 8” to 5-10" tall with husky build. He was wearing a ski mask and a winter jacket at the time of the robbery. The suspect ran in a southwest direction through the parking lot. Police have been using their K9 unit to try to track the suspect but he has not been located.
Law enforcement from Waite Park and Stearns County assisted with the perimeter control and the F.B.I. is assisting with the investigation.
At the time of the robbery, Westwood Elementary School was in containment security mode for just over an hour. Police. Burke says the school’s resource officers searched the school and no suspects were found in the building.
