St. Cloud State University will be closed on Monday, January 6 due to the extremely cold temperatures. President Potter wrote in an email to faculty, staff and student leaders the decision was made the interest of the safety of those in the campus community.

Any university classes, including those at the Twin Cities Graduate Center, and all events Monday on campus are cancelled. The president added offices will be closed and employees should not report to work unless explicitly directed otherwise by their supervisors. 
 
The Center for International Studies is expecting new students to campus this weekend to begin their orientation week on January 7. The administration has made accommodations for housing and meals for newly arrived international students, however International Studies is asking for coat, boots and winter wear donations to give to students who may need them.

St. Cloud State is currently on winter break. Spring semester classes resume on Monday, January 13 for all students.
