Archived: Wind Chill Advisory In Effect for Central Minnesota

We’re currently under a wind child advisory in St. Cloud and for most of central and eastern Minnesota. The conditions are so cold there is a warning for other parts of southwestern Minnesota and the Red River Valley.

Meteorology professor at St. Cloud State University Bob Weisman says temperatures fell to the minus single digits Monday morning in the St. Cloud area and the minus teens in Alexandria, Morris, and points northwest. With a northwest wind blowing at 5-15 MPH, there are wind chills in the -25 to -15 category in the advisory area and in the -35 to -20 range in the warning area.

In the advisory area, wind chills will be in the -30 to -20 range through late morning and in the -40 to -25 range in the warning area. All the wind chill notices are in effect until noon Tuesday.

Here is Weisman’s specific forecast.
