A man was injured after his van was side-swiped by a car near County Road 17 late Tuesday.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, 70-year-old Jack Ronald Petrillo of Alexandria was travelling westbound on County Road 17 when he struck a tractor pulling a wagon driven by 14-year-old Jacob James Gamrat of Sauk Centre.

After running into the tractor, Petrillo moved into oncoming traffic and side-swiped a car, that spun around and ended in the north ditch.

Petrillo was taken to the Centra Care hospital in Sauk Centre and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Gamrat and the driver of the oncoming car, 53-year-old Larry Joe Felt of Long Prairie both refused medical attention.

The crash remains under investigation.
